Information you send through forms

The three forms on this site collect only what you type into them, and that is sent by email to the business. The contact form asks for your name, phone number, town and a message. The service request form asks for your name, phone number, the service you are interested in and a note about your preferred day. The newsletter form asks for an email address only.

When you press the button, what you typed is sent by email to the business. We use it for the purpose you sent it: to phone or write back, to schedule the work you asked about, or to send the seasonal reminders you subscribed to. Name and phone number are required on the contact and request forms because a callback is impossible without them; the other fields are optional.

Each form also contains a hidden field that people never see and automated spam programs tend to fill in. It exists only to filter junk submissions and collects nothing about you.

Phone calls

A phone call to NWI Chimney Sweep is used only to arrange and carry out the service you ask about. If you call, we learn your number and whatever you tell us about your home and chimney. That information is used to schedule the visit and do the work.

Cookies and browser storage

This site uses only essential browser storage and no advertising cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage to remember two things: whether you chose the light or dark colour theme, and whether you have already dismissed the cookie notice so it does not keep reappearing. Neither identifies you, and neither is sent to us.

The map on the contact page

The contact page embeds a Google map of the shop address. It is set to load only when you scroll to it. Once it loads, your browser connects to Google, which may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. If you prefer to avoid that, the address is printed in text on the same page.

Who sees your details

The owner and the people at the company who schedule and perform the work. Your details pass through our email and website hosting providers as a technical necessity. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we would disclose it to anyone else only if the law required it.

How long details are kept

Enquiries are kept only for as long as they are useful for serving you and for ordinary business record-keeping. For example, next year it helps to know what kind of fireplace you have. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Seeing, correcting or removing your details

You can ask NWI Chimney Sweep to show, correct or delete the details it holds about you at any time. Call (219) 203-9797 between 7am and 9pm on any day, or use the contact form, and tell us what you would like: a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. Removal requests are honoured, apart from records we are obliged to keep, such as invoices for completed work.

Children

This website is intended for adult homeowners and renters. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
