Accessibility Statement
Everyone should be able to read this site and reach us. Here is what has been built in and how to tell us when it falls short.
Our aim
NWI Chimney Sweep aims for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. It should be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, magnification or high-contrast settings. The target we build toward is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
That is a goal, not a claim of proven conformance. The site has not been through a formal third-party audit, and some pages or features may not yet meet every criterion. We would rather say so than overstate it.
What is built into the site
Nine accessibility features are built into every page of this site, covering navigation, colour, structure, forms and contact.
- Skip link. The first item reached with the Tab key jumps past the header and menu to the main content.
- Keyboard navigation. Menus, links, buttons, the expandable question-and-answer sections and all form fields can be operated without a mouse.
- Visible focus styles. The element that currently has keyboard focus is clearly outlined, so you always know where you are on the page.
- Colour contrast. Text and background colours are chosen with the AA contrast ratios in mind, in both colour themes.
- Dark mode. A toggle switches between light and dark themes, and your choice is remembered on your device.
- Clear structure. Each page has a single main heading followed by ordered subheadings, which lets assistive technology build an accurate outline.
- Labelled forms. Every field on the contact, request and newsletter forms has a visible text label, and a status message confirms when a form has been sent.
- Tap-to-call phone numbers. The number is a real telephone link on every page, so nobody needs to complete a form to reach us.
- Resizable text. Layouts are designed to reflow when you zoom the browser or enlarge text.
Known limitations
Two parts of the site are known to fall short: the embedded map and wide tables on small screens. The map on the contact page is supplied by Google and its controls are outside our hands; the shop address is given in plain text beside it for that reason. Data tables on the pricing page scroll sideways on narrow screens.

Anything on this website, from service descriptions to prices to scheduling, can also be handled entirely by voice on that same number. How details you share are treated is explained in the privacy policy.
