Calling is fastest
One call to (219) 203-9797 usually settles the day, the time window and the right service in a single conversation. The form below is for evenings, lunch breaks and people who simply prefer to write.
Request form
The request form has four fields: name and phone are required, then the service and your preferred day.
We call back the same day during business hours, 7am to 9pm.
From request to finished job
A request becomes an appointment in four steps: you send it, we call back the same day, you prepare the fireplace, and the crew arrives.
You send the request
The details reach the business by email. Nothing is charged and nothing is reserved yet.
We call you back
During business hours someone phones the number you gave, asks a few questions about the fireplace or vent, and agrees a day with you.
You get the fireplace ready
We recommend letting the last fire burn out at least 24 hours ahead so ash and firebrick are cold. Move breakables off the mantel and clear a path to the hearth.
The work is done
Floors are covered, the system is cleaned or examined according to the service chosen, and the findings are explained before the crew leaves.
Choosing a service in the dropdown
Pick the service that matches your fuel and symptom; if neither is clear, choose the closest one and describe the problem. If the fireplace burns wood and has not been cleaned in over a year, pick chimney sweeping. If you have just bought the house or changed the appliance, pick chimney inspection and mention the purchase in the notes so we plan a Level 2 camera scan. Water stains, loose brick or a rusty firebox point to chimney repair or cap and crown work. Clothes taking two cycles to dry is the classic sign for dryer vent cleaning.
Unsure? Select the nearest match and describe the symptom in the box underneath. Sorting that out is our job. Starting figures for each option are on the pricing page.
When to schedule
Late spring and summer are the best months to schedule chimney work in Northwest Indiana, well before the October rush. The flue is cold, roofs are dry, and masonry repairs can cure properly because fresh mortar needs temperatures above freezing to gain strength. From the first cold snap in October the calendar fills quickly with people who want to light a fire this weekend. Sweeping and inspection continue all winter, but exterior masonry may have to wait for a mild stretch.
Booking questions
Is sending the request form a confirmed appointment?
No, sending the NWI Chimney Sweep request form is not yet a confirmed appointment. The form tells us what you need and when you would like it. The appointment is confirmed when we phone you, the same day during business hours, and agree a day and time together.
What should I write about my preferred day?
In the last box of the request form, write whatever is true for you: a specific date, “any weekday morning”, or “Saturdays only”, followed by anything else we should know. NWI Chimney Sweep works seven days a week, so weekend requests are normal and need no special explanation.
Which service do I select if I am not sure what is wrong?
If you are not sure what is wrong with the chimney, select Chimney Inspection, or whichever service seems closest, and describe what you see, smell or hear in the box below it. A short call afterwards will pin down whether the visit should be a sweep, an inspection or a repair.
How should I prepare the fireplace before a chimney sweep visit?
Before a chimney sweep visit, we recommend that you stop burning at least 24 hours ahead so the firebox is cold, leave the ashes in place unless they are overflowing, clear the mantel and the floor in front of the hearth, and keep pets in another room while doors are opening and closing.
Does someone need to be home during chimney service?
Yes, an adult should be home during chimney service. Sweeping and inspection need access to the firebox from inside the house, and it is far better to be shown what was found, on the camera screen or in the firebox itself, than to hear about it afterwards.
What is the best time of year to have a chimney swept?
The best time to have a chimney swept is late spring through summer. Creosote left in a flue over a humid Northwest Indiana summer is what produces that sour campfire smell, so removing it right after the burning season helps with odor as well as avoiding the autumn scheduling rush.
Can I ask for more than one service in a single request?
Yes, one request can cover more than one service. Choose the main one in the dropdown and list the others in the text box, for example “sweep plus dryer vent”. When we call back we will work out together whether they fit into a single visit or need two.
How do I change or cancel a request I already sent?
To change or cancel a service request, call NWI Chimney Sweep at (219) 203-9797 between 7am and 9pm and tell us. There is no online account to log into and no cancellation form to find; a phone call updates the schedule straight away.
Ready now? Calling beats any form.
